D-Day 75
HPower Group was contracted by The Royal British Legion as event deliverers for three events during the D-Day 75 commemorations. They were The National Commemorative Event on June 5th at Southsea Common, Portsmouth, which was attended by 14 Heads of State and Heads of Government including Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and The President of The United States along with some 2000 guests including D-Day veterans. On the 6th June HPower delivered the British Normandy Memorial unveiling which was attended by PM Teresa May and President Macron and services at The Cathedral of Our Lady Of Bayeux, Bayeux France and at The Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s Bayeux Cemetery. Both of which were attended by Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall along with more than 400 veterans and their carers and families. At both Portsmouth and Bayeux lunches were served for more than 1500 guests. All events were broadcast live by BBC Studios or BBC News.
HPower Group provided event management services including structural build, technical production, logistics, security, health and safety, catering and guest management.
Venue: Southsea Common, Portsmouth, Ver Sur Mer and Bayeux, Normandy.
Stakeholders: The Royal British Legion, The Ministry of Defence, The Normandy Memorial Trust, The Foreign and Commonwealth Office, The Cabinet Office, The Commonwealth War Graves Commission, BBC Studios, the towns of Portsmouth, Bayeux and Ver Sur Mer.
