HPower Group was contracted by The Department for Culture, Media and Sport to produce the key official event to commemorate the Battle of Paschendaele. Some 4,000 balloted guests attended alongside the King and Queen of Belgium, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, HRH Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and the British and Belgian Prime Ministers amongst other dignitaries.

The events were held over two days with a live performance in Market Square, Ypres including award-winning projection mapping, the Last Post Ceremony at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) Menin Gate Memorial and a service/event at the CWGC’s Tyne Cot Cemetery. The BBC Events Team broadcast live for all events.

HPower Group provided all event management services including logistics, security, transport, media management, catering and guest management.

This high-profile BBC live-televised event went on to win a BAFTA. It was a highly ambitious and complex event running across four different venues over two days. Contracted by DCMS (Department for Culture, Media & Sport), HPower ran a team of more than 30 people plus large numbers of contractors and delivered in all areas.
