This summer, HPower Group have organised three weekends of international FEI Endurance rides. The rides take place over beautiful unspoilt countryside on the Suffolk / Norfolk border and use tracks on the Rushford Estate. The estate includes a large working farm and offers bridleways, woodlands, farm tracks, forest paths and streams all of which provide beautiful vistas and excellent routes for the ride competitors.
Typically, 60 – 80 competitors will take part in a number of different classes, the highest being the CEI3* which is a 160km route that generally will take 9 to 10 hours to complete. Other classes for adults and juniors are also offered at varying distances. The skill of the rider is to ensure that they complete the ride and maintain the fitness of their horse. The rides consist of loops and at the end of each loop the horse will be checked by a vet to ensure that its heartbeat is sound and that there is no lameness.
To facilitate these rides, HPower manages the competition, appointing all officials, liaising with Endurance Great Britain and the Federation Equestrian Internationale (the international federation for equestrian sports), putting the schedule in place and ensuring all facilities for riders, horses, grooms and officials are in place including structures, power, water, timekeeping and all health and safety requirements.
